I would definitely recommend Northern Energy Services. After buying a 1975 raised ranch, I didn’t know how bad the insulation was in my attic. I had already burned through an entire tank of oil in a month. My father recommended having Tom coming over and do an assessment to see where I was losing all my heat. Come to find out, they hadn’t done any upgrades or replacements in the attic since it was built. I ended up needing proper vents, everything needed to be air sealed and new insulation blown in. Tom quoted me a very fair price. They also do all the paperwork with the state of Maine for the energy rebates, too. His guys came in and worked super fast. They said three days to do all the work. They kept to that schedule even though the attic is incredibly difficult to move around in. They were very nice and cleaned up after every day. Tom checked back in after the work was finished to make sure my house was staying warm now. I’m so happy with the work they did. I’ve already recommended them to several other people. Don’t hesitate to use them!!

I’ve been meaning to write this review of my experience with Northern Energy Services for some time now. I decided to have an energy audit performed on a rental property of mine after years of worrying about ice dams (which had occasionally led to minor leaks ) so I called Northern Energy. From the free consultation to the audit to providing me with all the info and help I needed with Efficiency Maine and to the eventual work on the knee wall of the house and completely insulating the basement Tom and his crew were great. They were professional, efficient and friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate my tenants with scheduling. Now the house is warmer, we are conserving energy and fuel costs are down. I’m glad I called Northern Energy.

I was not sure where to leave my testimonial so here it is!
We have been in our home since 2001. We were literally wearing hats to bed in the winter due to little to no insulation, paying hundreds of dollars a month to freeze in our home until we contacted Tom at Northern Energy Services.
Tom was very helpful in working with Efficiency Maine to allow us to afford to have our home buttoned up from the dirt floor basement to the peak of the roof. New boiler, new hot water heater, insulation, water barrier in the basement the works!
Not only are we finally warm and comfortable in our home, the amount we are saving every month on our heating costs is astounding!
We could not have been happier with the work, or the work men. Thank you all for making us comfortable at last!

My poor old 1820’s farmhouse is now toasty warm, thanks in no small part to these folks! They were here and gone in one day, graciously stepped over thousands of baby toys without judgement, and left me with a markedly warmer house than I had before. Hope all is well with you and yours. I just wanted to let you know that we have zero ice dams this years and the house feels much more comfortable in regard to retaining heat. You did a great job; I am thinking we cut our energy consumption by about 25% (propane) but will have the final numbers later this year. I feel thats pretty good considering how danged cold its been.
